Overview
The DACHSHUND is a field modification. And the name came from the shape of its head.
The Großer Hund platform had already proven itself in combat — the K-Type Kyklop upgraded the base machine with a quadrupled Neupanzerschreck launcher configuration, reinforced shoulder armour, and extended legs borrowed from the space-capable ALTAIR. It worked. Then the engineers at JG41's 1st Besatzung Gruppe kept going: high-performance target acquisition, an advanced sensor suite, additional rear protection armour integrated into the Kyklop frame. The resulting machine looked different enough to earn a new name.
Elite units deployed it. The balance of offensive punch and defensive capability was decisive. Mercenary Arms forces adapted. Slowly.
This is the Hasegawa 1/20 kit — the DACHSHUND in full field configuration, with markings from Panzerkampf Division 19's 2nd Kommando Kompanie "Freegen Pilz": winter urban camouflage, mushroom insignia, the works.
Hasegawa reissues this kit on a periodic window basis. When stock clears, it waits for the next run.
The DACHSHUND is documented in the Ma.K Lincoln Report Vol. 3 — HUND, available separately.
