Overview

The STURM VÖGEL is what the OSKAR became when the mission changed.

The OSKAR was a hover-recon platform — light, fast, sensor-forward, built to observe and withdraw. The STURM VÖGEL is its combat refit. Same core chassis. Different doctrine. The laser weapon is gone. In its place: a 25mm projectile-firing main cannon and four rear-mounted homing rockets. The NINJA head unit replaces the original sensor array — the same seeker design that runs through the unmanned AI line, from the DACHSHUND through the NEUSPOTTER. Heavier presence. Expanded threat envelope. A machine that no longer leaves before the engagement begins.

What makes this kit unusual is the scope of what's in the box. One injection-moulded kit. Three complete lore configurations — all buildable from a single boxing.

This is also the subject of the first dual-subject Workbench Edition from the studio. Two builds. Two schemes. 48 pages minimum — expanded if the work demands it.

This is a multimedia release — a callback to the original NITTO SF3D boxings. Everything required to build to studio standard is in the box:

Workbench Edition — OSKAR / STURM VÖGEL Platform

The WBE is the bench reference. It goes next to the kit while you build.

This is the first Workbench Edition from the studio to document two complete builds in a single volume. Two machines. Two paint schemes. Full studio documentation of both — technique, colour methodology, and the reasoning behind each decision.

Subject one — OSKAR. The 2018 boxing. Organic cloud camouflage pattern. A build originally developed for a major international publication before the project changed direction. It finds its proper home here.

Subject two — STURM VÖGEL. The new kit, built fresh. Hybrid splinter scheme. The assault-recon configuration documented from the bench up.

Lore Note

The tooling tells the story. The OSKAR moulds carry a 2013 date. The parts required for the STURM VÖGEL upgrade were tooled at the same time — and then held for over a decade before this boxing. The NINJA head unit that defines the STURM VÖGEL configuration is the same seeker design that first appeared on the DACHSHUND, carried forward through the NEUSPOTTER lineage. This is the latest iteration of the SDR's war effort to take back control of the Earth.

Why This Release

The STURM VÖGEL is the first AFV-weight platform in the SDR hover-recon line — and the first kit to offer the full OSKAR / OSKAR R6 / STURM VÖGEL configuration in a single boxing.
